This song is about faithfulness, the seventh fruit of the Spirit. Of all Scriptures that talk about how to exhibit faithfulness, Proverbs 3:3 felt the most natural to use as the chorus and foundation for this piece. Although it mentions both love and faithfulness, it is not at a loss because these two fruits and all of the fruits as a whole are connected as is demonstrated throughout the song cycle. For example, when we show goodness or gentleness to others, that is exhibiting kindness. When we show love, it brings peace. And in this case, we exhibit faithfulness by showing love. The next verse, Proverbs 3:4, completes the chorus by reinforcing the value of showing faithfulness as confirmed in Scripture. The verses of the piece list out different situations where we can show faithfulness: faithfulness to God, faithfulness with our money, faithfulness in romantic relationships, and faithfulness in platonic relationships. Deuteronomy 28:1, Luke 16:10-11, and Romans 12:10 are mentioned to reinforce how these forms of faithfulness can be shown.
